Life is not always a bed of roses. It can
be tough sometimes. The best option is to
really make it count by freeing yourself from the world’s negativity, from the sources of ignorance telling you what you can and cannot do, by promising to look ahead, to live ahead, and to get ahead.
Its time to start making positive promises to yourself.
Promise yourself not to hold the past against yourself. Your problems, your weaknesses, setbacks, regrets and mistakes teach you if you’re willing to learn, or they will punish you if you’re not. So let them teach you, every day. Take everything as a lesson learned. If you regret some of the decisions you have made in the past, stop being so hard on yourself. At that
time, you did your best with the knowledge and the experience you had at the time.
Promise yourself to own your life and never deny responsibility for it. Stop blaming your parents, your teachers or the system for your failure. If you want to change, if you want to let go and move on with your life, you’re the only person who can make it happen. It’s your move to make. It’s your responsibility. Own it!
Promise yourself to always speak kindly and consciously to yourself.
Promise yourself to live a life that feels right to you, not one that looks right to others. Give yourself permission to follow the path that makes you happy
Promise yourself not let any situation permanently steal your smile. Even when times are tough, take a moment to pause and remember who you are. Take a moment to reflect on the things that have real and lasting meaning in your life. And then smile about how far you’ve come.
Promise yourself to celebrate and appreciate the life you have. Appreciate what you have and who you are today. Life does not have to be perfect to be wonderful. Count your blessings, not your troubles.
Promise yourself to always do your best, and to remember your best is always good enough.
Promise yourself to stop comparing yourself to others. Have no need to see yourself as more or less than anyone else.
Finally promise yourself to always treat yourself with love and respect. When you love yourself, you treat yourself with as much love and respect as you would your closest friend, be understanding and forgiving of your failings and, above all, be as kind to yourself as you are to the other important people in your life.
