My child,  strive to live by this golden laws:

Be happy ~ while happiness is subjective, everyone should always live in a way that honors their souls. Always remember you can always change your circumstances. Never settle for a life that doesn’t make you ridiculously happy. Don’t work at a job you hate. Never settle for a job just to feel secure and have a steady paycheck. Even if you make less money by following your passions, you can always adjust your lifestyle to accommodate your income.  Doing mundane or highly stressful tasks day in and day out can take a huge toll on you emotionally, physically, and spiritually, don’t sacrifice your well-being just to get bills paid. Your happiness matters much more than money ever will.

Don’t let money rule your life ~ While we live in a society that requires money, to some extent, you should not put money at the forefront of your existence. We come into this world with nothing, and we leave with nothing.

Follow your heart, not the herd. ~ When you blindly let others dictate how you will live your life and what path you should take, you will never reach your full potential. Take the path less traveled, and leave your own imprint on the world. You were not made to fit in; you were born to stand out.

Doesn’t be a people pleaser ~ When you seek approval from others, you diminish the power of your own opinion. No matter how many people agree or disagree with your decision, they will never be able to make the decision for you. Also, you can never make everyone happy, because everyone takes different paths in their quest for happiness. Give up these last ditch efforts to appease your ego, and instead just focus on what makes you happy.

Expect what you give ~ Don’t expect what you are not willing to give. Start practicing the golden rule. If you want love, give love. If you want friends, be friendly. If you want money, provide value. It works. It really is this simple.

Stop wishing that you were different ~ Open your eyes and realize there’s beauty, not misery in that mirror. Nothing about you needs to change physically except the perception you have of yourself. Who cares that your past isn’t pure, who’s is? Who cares that your soul has been scared, who’s hasn’t? Just because your past has been damaged doesn’t mean your future has to be worthless. You’re not alone. Nobody’s perfect. Perfection is something that can only be faked, not lived. No matter how well it’s covered up, underneath it all we are all beautifully damaged in some way. I think it’s about time for you to stop rejecting your reflection. I think it’s time for you to start OWNING everything that you are. Love everything about you. What you focus on is what you will feel. Insecurities lose power once you stop measuring your life, and start appreciating your life. Nothing about you is useless. We are all a little broken in our own little ways
