Friction is necessary. Ease of life leads to complacency and the atrophy of the human will and spirit. Within our struggles lives our strength, within our trials lives our triumphs. Friction creates a platform for change, generates heat and or fervor and creates a motivational charge that gives us an opportunity to be better. A gem cannot be polished without friction and so neither a person without hardships. Friction within and friction without sharpens our senses and revives our internal resolutions. Friction is uncomfortable, hardships are distressing but both are necessary. We cannot light a match without friction nor can we hone steal. Uncomfortable as it may be, our adversity ultimately lights a fire and sharpens our very will to flourish. Today, let us not be discouraged, let us not be bitter in our suffering rather let us be encouraged as we look to our trials as a medium that will eventually make us better ~ Jason Versey•

Pain and suffering is part and parcel of human existence, without fire the purest of Gold can’t be obtained, it’s no difference with human character. Here are few things that pain and suffering reveal about us

Pain will show you what is so deeply entrenched in your heart and soul, what really matters because you won’t suffer for anything you don’t care about. When you’re really angry, depressed, and upset, it’s because of something or someone you love.

Pain will show who you really are. Struggle doesn’t make you who you are; it tends to reveal who you are. When you’re truly in a state of desperation, your real self will start to surface. Pay attention to this. It’s in the most trying times that our true self become manifest.

Pain will show that seeking help is not a sign of weakness. It takes courage to admit that you need help and to be humble enough to go out and be open to receiving it, so free yourself from the idea that needing help, or even crying, is weakness.

Pain will show you how loving ‘you’ is important. Most negative situations in life that are somehow derived from not loving yourself. You’re probably thinking how so? If you love yourself, you will care enough about your life to seek treatment. It means that although you are absolutely broken over the fact that the person you love doesn’t love you, you know that you’re not any less worthy or less able to love again. Loving yourself means accepting yourself, and knowing that you don’t need everybody’s approval.

Pain will show you that everything in life is brief, and at the end of the day, the greatest restorations come from the cruelest torments. Your pain will not last forever, and often, you’ll be surprised by what comes after a period of suffering.

Pain will show you who really loves you. People who really, truly, unconditionally love you, will still have love to give to you, even if you’re temporarily unable to give it back. When you are down in life, you get to know who your friends are. There will be many people who will be great to be around when times are easy, and when there are no worries, instead take note of the people who remain in your life when times are hard. The friends that are willing to sacrifice their time and the resources they have in their life that could easily be used in their lives, to help improve yours, those are your real friends. A real friend is one who walks in when the rest of the world walks out.
